To gain board-level buy-in, we needed a
user-centered story that brought to life
our vision. We quickly created a mock user journey
including the following phases: Ingredient Search: A user searches for recipes based on the
ingredients in their fridge. Personalised Collections : to help users make it “theirs”. Shopping List Integration: to make the grocery run more seamless. Cook Mode: Includes voice commands for hands-free use,
even with messy fingers. Community: Users can comment, rate, and share recipes.
This effectively showcased our vision and
secured the necessary support.
The objective of this study was to inform the design of the Index of Multiple Deprivation, ensuring that users
understand what data is being communicated to them, are able to navigate the tool, feedback meets their expectations and
behaviours, and to gain confidence in the usefulness of the presented data to the readers. I led and executed the research, and worked with the editorial and design stakeholders on the implementation.
